AES Chemunex strengthens its product traceability with a-SIS
The French specialist in industrial microbiology, a subsidiary of the BioMérieux group has equipped itself with a-SIS warehouse management software to optimise the traceability of its products at its international distribution centre in Combourg (35) and accompany its solid development particularly in export. In June, AES Chemunex began the implementation of the Logys® WMS module from the LOGISTICS MANAGER SUITE by the editor a-SIS at its logistic site in Combourg (10.000m2), near Rennes. The solution, which has been fully operational since November 2011, allows the microbiology specialist to optimise the management of all of its logistic flows and over 20 000 highly sensitive products on site. The latter are spread over four storage zones: frozen (-20°C), refrigerated (+5°C), temperate (+18°C) and room temperature. Product rotation varies from one product to another. Logys® allows dynamic management, of locations, of batches and also of expiry dates. Sébastien Decherf, a-SIS’ Project Manager for the AES Chemunex dossier, specifies: « The solution calculates, the optimal expiry date to be issued given the product’s features, the customer’s requirements and the destination country in order to give location and Preparation Order instructions ». « Logys® allows us not only to significantly increase our productivity by warehouse management using radiofrequency, but also to our logistic traceability. » according to David Flambard, AES CHEMUNEX’s Supply Chain Project Manager responsible for the WMS deployment.Establishing the WMS is a key stage in our management schema as far as Supply Chain is concerned. In an increasingly competitive environment on the international markets, improving our logistic operational performance is an essential asset for the company. As well as shortening our delivery deadlines on a worldwide level, this new information system which is fully interfaced with our ERP allows us to respond better to our customers’ requirements, particularly the large instructing parties in the agri-foods, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries, according to Christian Adam, Supply Chain Manager.a-SISAs a well-known expert in split case logistics and traceability, a-SIS as an editor-integrator equips warehouses of industrial, specialised distribution, mass distribution, hospitals and 3PL warehouses in France and throughout the World.a-SIS is a subsidiary of SAVOYE – international logistics engineering&...
