Savoye signs with Kermené

Savoye (manufacturer-integrator of logistic and IT solutions) will deploy a PTS Picking Tray System order fulfilment system able to process 5 000 boxes an hour for the supplier of meat products to the E. Leclerc brand.

The logistics engineering specialist was entrusted at the end of March with the mechanisation of Kermené’s logistic platform; the latter is the main supplier of meat and pork meat products to the E. Leclerc brand. Located in Saint-Onen-La-Chapelle (35), close to the slaughter site in Saint-Jacut-du-Mené, this
9 000 m2 site at a controlled temperature is currently being extended (an additional 6 000 m2). The new cell will be equipped with a Savoye
PTS Picking Tray System over 5 storage rack aisles.

« It involves high performance, compact, upgradeable order fulfilment system.  Fifty autonomous shuttles will circulate over ten levels of quadruple depth racks to pick the products to be prepared. The system will automatically schedule the orders according to box features (weight, size…). Besides that, it will be matched with five automated palletisation lines in output and banderolling devices », highlights Alain Bussod, Savoye’s Sales Director for France.

Kermené has also called upon the editor a-SIS, for the provision of WCS (mechanised equipment management) IT software packages and part of the WMS (warehouse management).

Fully operational in the summer of 2012, the Savoye installation (whose assembly began this summer) will allow the preparation of 5 000 mono-base, multi-height boxes an hour ! Up to 10 000 boxes an hour could be prepared in the next 3 to 5 years, equipping new storage aisles.
